About
My name is Agathe (pronounced as you like agat’/agata/agatha). I am originally from France but I live in San Francisco. I moved from Finland to the Bay Area in September 2007 to work at Nokia Research Center of Palo Alto in the UX team. I have been an R&D software engineer for several years, but at the moment I am taking a break from corporate life to work on side projects.
I have worked on a lot of software projects for mobile devices and the Web. My top interests have been mobile apps, ubiquitous computing, context-awareness, data analysis/scraping, web and mobile development. Lately I got a lot into maps, OpenStreetMap, and IOS development.
I studied software engineering in France at the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC), as well as at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia.
Other than computers I enjoy sports: road biking, snowboarding, weight training, hiking, tennis, and a few more. The Bay Area is one of the best places I know for outdoor activities and I try to take full advantage of that. I also like making photos, food, and photos of food.
I was born and raised in France which I visit about twice a year. My parents live in Orléans, but the family roots are anchored deeply in the rural area of Le Berry, not too far from the Loire Valley.
